The 2019er Brauneberger Juffer Kabinett trocken was made from fruit picked at 97°Oechsle. It offers a rather deep and intense nose made of pear, vineyard peach, citrusy elements, greengage, a hint of cream, aniseed herbs, and earthy spices. The wine coats the palate with big and juicy flavors of ripe orchard fruits, earthy spices, and minerals. While intense, the wine remains nicely precise right into the big and bold finish. Some elements of underripe white peach add freshness to the aftertaste. As so often, this Estate manages to combine boldness with precision and complexity. Lovers of intense expressions of dry Riesling will love the wine! 2021-2034. 91 points (Mosel Fine Wines, aug 2020)
2021 Klang der Tiefe Riesling Spätlese trocken ›
This yellow-golden colored wine displays an aromatic and ripe nose of apricot, quince, yellow peach, honeyed pineapple, mirabelle, orange and lavender. It proves remarkably full-bodied and powerful on the ripe and honeyed palate for an „entry level“ dry Riesling and leaves a tale of CO2 in the very long, smoky and powerful finish. Some tartness comes through in the after-taste which still needs to integrate. After a day or two, the wine starts to significantly gain in finesse and harmony, so patience is needed. The 2019er Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Spätlese trocken offers a ratherbig yet engaging nose made of melon, pear, citusy fruits, elderflower, cassis, earthy spices, aniseed herbs, and plenty of smoky elements. The wine is big and quite assertive on the palate but, as so often at this Estate, it proves in no way broad or overpowering. The finish is precise, intense, and tarte. This peautiful dry Riesling will benefit from a few years of bottle aging as this will allow it to shed its touch of tartness and primary rough edges. The 2017er Brauneberger Kammer GG displays a delicately fruit-driven and ripe nose of apricot, tangerine, honeyed peach, a hint of mango, almond and vanilla. after some extensive airing, notes of sage and thyme join the party. the wine is elegantly smooth and round on the palate, where creamy and ripe fruits as well as flavors of Muskat further underline the comparatively soft and smooth experience. The finish is however more structured and even slightly powerful. The after-taste is quite spicy and even saline. This will please lovers of forceful and fruit-driven Riesling with comparatively moderate levels of acidity. The wine gains from extensive airing and patience is needed. 90points (Mosel Fine Wines, oct 2018)
